Funny stories about Celia are almost too many to mention. The one that sticks with me is when mum was teaching in an inner-city school in London. A child called (and Dickens would be proud) Tony Sultana, expecting another (possibly less authoritarian) Teacher took one look at his new teacher- mum, and balefully exclaimed "Oh blimey - Mrs Rose!!"

It is a retort that resounded with me during my teenage years, and it still makes me smile.
